The Bell bottom era began - Seafarer and other U.S. Navy original equipment bell bottoms makers and suppliers  started selling navy dungarees to the public a batch of new companies making the jeans that were becoming so popular - U.S. Navy Dungarees - almost exactly at first - regulation U.S. Navy jeans didn't have an outside seam. Diversity was soon ran rampant.

What are vintage blue jeans? Generally any blue jeans that have been around for 20 years or more are considered  vintage, at least in name. We find Made in the USA blue jeans sell better than not. If there's a demand for acid wash and there is then there's a demand for most of what's out there. We have included a  category for blue jeans still in demand but no longer in production - classics. Let's define a couple of categories, their approximate age and their price range.

Classic  -  5 to14 years old - $10 to $50 - most are out-of-production blue jeans but in today's market where so much is made in China we include many blue jeans  Made in the USA

Old Vintage - 14 to 20 years old - $10 to $100 - mostly Made in the USA in the 80s they include slim fits with tapered legs and different denims, ie; acid wash blue jeans

Older Vintage - 20 to 33 year old - $25 to $300 - Made in the USA - these include the  Hippie bell bottoms of the 70s and Mod polyester Disco jeans and slacks of the early 80s

Oldest  Vintage - 33+ year old - $50 to $50,000 - Made in the USA - in 1971 Levi's switched from using a Big E in their name/logo and started using a little 'e' . This small change generally marks the  beginning of the collectible vintage era  if your going back in time. Learn more about Big Es in the Levi section
